| After getting a relief from my random freeze ups and mouse probs after Festivult stopped I thought I was good til yesterday when it started acting up again. So I do a search for my mouse and my comp for any ideas. Come to find out the model of Dell Dimension I have ,9100, is flaky is the USB Port department and seems they all go out and they respond in a manner exactly as mine have been doing. So with this knowledge I will be hunting for a new motherboard or desktop system I guess. | |

| Okay, I'm pretty sure you've found the problem and its cause, and I doubt this is going to be any real help, however, I'm going to put my two cents in anyway. I've got a Dell XPS 1340 Laptop and when I leave my Bluetooth on, and it starts searching for devices around me, DDO does the exact same thing as what your describing (Random freezing and mouse problems). I'm using a USB Mouse, however it still seems to be affected by the Bluetooth. I tested it over a long period of time with my phone on next to me, and every time DDO freezed or my Mouse died my phone would dial out a connection code then link up with the laptop, shortly followed by dropping the connection. A few moments after the connection was dropped, DDO went back to normal as if nothing had happened; though the party would be dead and I'd be running into a wall. Now, I know your running a Desktop, and, I'm more than aware it probably doesn't have a built in Bluetooth device, however, if it does, or your using any other Bluetooth/Wireless devices, that could be something to look into. Assuming the $20 USB fix doesn't work. Just food for thought, and hope you can resolve it soon. | |
